Do you suffer from loss of urine when you cough, laugh, sneeze, or exercise (often called “leaky bladder”), urinate frequently, feel an urgency to urinate, or experience pain with urination? You may have Urinary Stress Incontinence (USI), Urge Incontinence (UI), or Interstitial Cystitis (IC). These conditions can affect women of any age. You may also be experiencing a weakening of the vaginal muscles (i.e., vaginal laxity), which is more common in women who have had a child, perform heavy lifting, or aggressively exercise. Dr. Gomez can perform an accurate evaluation and can perform surgical and non-surgical procedures to alleviate these symptoms.

Dr. Gomez offers a variety of non-surgical treatments, including:

  • Medical therapy, such as “bladder treatments,” which help reduce frequency and urgency and unwanted loss of urine;
  • PRP injections, which build collagen and elastin in the vaginal tissue to reduce frequency, urgency, and leaking, and also increase vaginal sensitivity and treat incontinence;
  • ThermiVa, which is a radiofrequency treatment of the vagina that increases collagen and elastin, thereby strengthening the vaginal muscles and alleviating bladder issues, and reducing laxity; and
  • BTL EMSELLA, which is a chair that uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology (HIFEM) to cause deep pelvic floor muscle stimulation and restoration of the neuromuscular control.

Dr. Gomez also offers a variety of surgical treatments, including bladder repair, with the possible use of a “sling”. Surgical treatments are used for severe cases that are not treatable by non-surgical methods, and minimally invasive options may be available.

Both non-surgical and surgical treatments may be covered by your insurance. Dr Gomez can discuss which option is best for you based on your symptoms and your evaluation.
